Dark by default
A white screen on a dark stage blinds whoever is holding it, and the back row can see it too.

The critical number reads standing up, with the instrument on. If you have to lean in, it is badly designed.

- What is Steish?
- Steish is a live show sequencer: the backing track, the click, the video and the markers for the whole set live on a single timeline and get fired from the stage. The entire show is one project, not twelve loose files.
- Who is it for?
- For bands that play to tracks, session players, musical directors, worship teams and technical production: anyone who needs the track, the click and the video to start together and stay together.
- How is it different from a DAW?
- A DAW is for writing and mixing; Steish is for performing. Material comes in finished and what you add is structure: bars, sections, loops and jumps. It is not a media player either, because a player knows nothing about bars or loops.
- Is there anything to install?
- No. Steish runs in the browser: go to app.steish.com and you are in. For audio we recommend a Chromium browser such as Chrome or Edge.
- How much does it cost?
- Starting is free: the Starter plan costs nothing and never asks for a card. The Pro and Team plans add cloud sync, export and teamwork. Current prices are inside the app, at app.steish.com.
- Do I need internet on stage?
- Not to play. The project and its files stay saved on the machine, so if the venue wifi drops mid-show, the show goes on. A connection is needed to sync and to open the project from another machine.
- Which file formats does it accept?
- Audio in MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC and FLAC; video in MP4; stills in JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIF. Material comes in finished: Steish does not compose or edit.
- Does video go out to a second screen?
- Yes. The video output opens in a separate window that goes to the projector or the second screen, hanging off the same clock as the timeline. That window shows picture and never emits sound.
- Can I loop a section or jump to another one live?
- Yes. Loops wait for the player instead of cutting them off, and from the live screen you can jump to any marked section. The change is armed when you tap it and lands on the next bar, never in the middle of one.
